  1. a) From 01/01/2024 to 31/12/2024, KTCFOOD purchased raw material from each of the following Fishery Source categories:

– MSC-certified fisheries eligible to use the MSC label = 10%

– Comprehensive FIPs listed on FisheryProgress.org scoring A, B or C or in their initial listing on Fisheryprogress.org = 0%

– Comprehensive FIPs listed on FisheryProgress.org scoring D or E = 0%

– Fisheries that have entered full assessment for MSC certification, but are not in a comprehensive FIP listing on FisheryProgress.org = 0%

– None of the above = 90%

  1. b) KTCFOOD has purchased the following (measured in round ton equivalents) for each of the following Supplier Source categories:

– ISSF participating companies = 0%

– Data Check Companies = 0%

– Direct from vessels = 0%

– None of the above = 100%

From January 2025, we started purchasing directly from the vessels at some ports in Vietnam. We expect to reduce ‘None of the above” to 85% in 2025, and continue to decrease purchase from the none of the above categories

UPDATE ON VIETNAM FIP PROJECT: The consultant, KT ASIA, advised that the Vietnam FIP Project need at least a financial forecast of USD50,000 per year, for the next 3 to 5 succeeding years. The Initiator, VINATUNA announced this extra budget to all FIP Project participants and the response is negative. Hence, Vietnam FIP Project has made no progress as of yet.

Since the FIPs in Vietnam have made no progress, we will start to find another FIPs fisheries source at the Tuna Conference in Bangkok on May 19–22, 2025. We will meet the Taiwanese fishing company, Fue Shin Fishery, who could supply FIP skipjacks from long-line fishing vessels, and they are an ISSF-participating company.

We will cooperate with Fue Shin Fishery as our potential FIP skipjack supplier and expect to have delivery from them soon.
